Eliciunt Innovation Ltd is launching a disruptive new technology to enter the cannabis and hemp derivative extraction market by signing an exclusive R&D agreement with the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute (ACRI). Elicunt is commercializing the microwave extraction technology developed by ACRI researcher, Dr Jocelyn Paré for the Cannabis and Hemp THC/CBD industries which are expected to grow in the edible and medical markets. The technology and knowhow provides higher yields of bioactive compounds compared to conventional methods while allowing for increased selectivity of the compound extract profile. Importantly, this technology provides faster extraction and uses non-dried material thus eliminating the need for drying and associated costs. Furthermore the microwave approach is environmentally safe as it eliminates the use of toxic organic solvents and reduces carbon emissions. These advantages make the technology more amenable to the edible, vaping and medical industries.
